4 waterworks projects opened in CamNorte

Manlangit DAET, Camarines Norte --- Four water extension line projects were recently inaugurated in this province by the Camarines Norte Water District (CNWD) and PrimeWater which will address the need for additional supply of safe and potable water in deficient areas. The water extension line projects are located in Barangay Mabilo I, Labo; Brgy. Del Rosario, Mercedes; Brgy. Man-Ogob, San Vicente; and Brgy. Alawihao, Daet, all in Camarines Norte. The Mabilo I extension line project which has a total length of 307 linear meters and pipe diameter of 90 mm unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (uPVC) pipe will initially provide potable water to 100 families or households in the said area. The Del Rosario extension line project, which has the 186 linear meters x 90 mm diameter uPVC pipe extension line located at Purok VI in the said barangay of Mercedes, will benefit 42 families/households. On the other hand, 37 families or households are the potential beneficiaries of the 360 linear meters x 90 mm diameter uPVC pipe extension line located at Purok V, Barangay Man-ogob in San Vicente town. With a total length of 84 linear meters and pipe diameter of 90 mm uPVC pipe located at Purok V, Barangay Alawihao, the extension line project will supply potable water to around 95 families or households in the area. The projects are part of the Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) between CNWD and PrimeWater that continuously work together in raising the quality of service to the concessionaires in the province. Blessing and inauguration of the 4 water extension line projects were held in Mabilo I, Del Rosario, Man-ogob and Aliwihao respectively and were officiated by Rev. Fr. Manny T. Pastrana, Parish Priest of St. Vincent Ferrer Parish. The inauguration was led by CNWD General Manager Ma. Antonia Bernardina F. Boma and PrimeWater Central Senior Consultant Olim O. Gusi. It was also attended by Camarines Norte Governor Jonah Pimentel, as well as local government officials from the municipality of San Vicente led by Mayor Francis Ong, barangay council members, and residents of the 4 barangays and media personnel. After the series of blessing rites, an inaugural program was held at Brgy. Alawihao Multipurpose Hall in Daet. Governor Pimentel emphasized the relevance of CNWD and PrimeWater partnership in fast-tracking community development. He said that through the partnership of CNWD and PrimeWater, they can now expeditiously implement projects to serve more waterless communities in the province. The newly completed water extension line projects are some of the improvement projects lined up by CNWD and PrimeWater this year. There are still more upcoming programs and projects to further improve the quality of service to the concessionaires.
