DepEd Bicol welcomes new director

By Connie Calipay LEGAZPI CITY --- The Department of Education (DepEd) in Bicol has a new regional director. Gilbert Sadsad, who previously served as regional director of Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan (Mimaropa), has replaced Ramon Fiel Abcede. Sadsad said Abcede has been reassigned to the DepEd Central Office as OIC Assistant Secretary for Finance-Budget, Project Monitoring and Procurement. In a press conference here Tuesday, Sadsad expressed his gratitude to the department after it granted his desire to lead the region where he began his career. He vowed to continue the legacy of Abcede, who hails from Camarines Sur. Sadsad started his career in the DepEd as a teacher in Magarao, Camarines Sur in 1988. After 19 years, he rose from the ranks and was designated OIC assistant schools division superintendent of iriga City in 2007 until he got promoted as assistant regional director for Bicol in 2014.
