By Armie B. Gunay MANILA--- Alisto Serbisyo App (ASApp), the online emergency response mobile application of the City Government of Naga, topped all other cities in the Philippines in the Best in Government Inter-operability Empowerment (G2G) Award category of the Digital Cities Awards: Best Practices in eGovernance (eGov) for Local Government Units (LGUs) in the country. The National ICT Confederation of the Philippines (NICP), in cooperation with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), spearheaded the awarding ceremony last October 12, 2018, at the PICC Convention Hall. The Digital Cities PH eGov Awards for LGUs aim to gather, recognize and encourage the initiatives of various LGUs in the country in utilizing Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for more efficient and effective delivery of its services to the public. The award is being divided into different categories, which includes Best In Customer Empowerment (G2C) Award, Best in Business Empowerment (G2B) Award, Best in Government Inter-operability Empowerment (G2G) Award, Best in Digital Finance Empowerment (P2G) Award, Best in Data-Driven Governance (D2G) Award, and Best in Systems for Global Competitiveness (G2W) Award. The Naga City’s ASApp topped the Best in Government Inter-operability Empowerment (G2G) Award category that recognizes the significant contribution of an LGU program in improving interconnectivity among different government offices, both local and national, in the delivery of public services. ASApp, going beyond the traditional practice of making telephone calls, allows the public to ask for emergency help “one click away” via the installed online emergency response application in their mobile phones. More so, ASApp provides significant help in improving the mobility of concerned government agencies including the security, medical and fire protection agencies, in responding to different disaster and emergency situations with their direct linkage to the Central Communications Center (ComCen) of the City Government of Naga through the ASApp mobile application. Naga City went ahead of Muntinlupa and Parañaque cities who were recognized as second and third placer, respectively, under the same category.
