PLASTIC MULCHING TECHNOLOGY – A 3-month training on organic farming utilizing the plastic mulching technology is being implemented at the Rocks & Greens Demo Farm, Sitio Yabu. Brgy. Carolina, Naga City. Sponsored by SM Foundation, DA-Naga City, and the Naga City government, the trainees are 4Ps beneficiaries, students from Carolina National High School, entrepreneurs, and private individuals. Plastic Mulching helps suppress weeds and conserve water in crop production. It acts as a barrier to keep methyl bromide, a known fumigant and ozone deplete in the soil. Mulching also helps retain moisture, prevents soil erosion, and adds nutrients to the soil. /JCHAVEZIII
