AKB’s 15 years of genuine public service

A child dreams of going to school, a mother desperately seeks medical attention for her ailing child, a father works tirelessly for his family’s future, and a community longs for a brighter tomorrow. In the face of these daily struggles, the Ako Bicol (AKB) Partylist stands firm in its commitment to turning aspirations into reality, not through mere words, but through concrete actions that uplift lives.

For the past 15 years, AKB Partylist has been more than a listening ear to the needs of the Filipino people—it has delivered essential services that respond directly to their demands.

Through its education program, the partylist has provided educational assistance to 216,460 student-beneficiaries under the Student Monetary Assistance for Recovery and Transition (SMART) Program Payout Initiative of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s administration.

This initiative ensures that more children can achieve their dream of attending school and securing a better future.

Healthcare remains a priority for AKB, as it has extended zero-billing medical assistance to 528,799 patients, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder access to life-saving treatments.

To further strengthen the region’s healthcare infrastructure, the partylist is currently constructing a world-class hospital that will cater to both locals and foreigners who wish to retire in Bicol, setting a new benchmark for medical services in the area.

Beyond education and healthcare, the AKB Partylist actively fosters economic opportunities through tourism and livelihood initiatives. The recently launched Bicol Loco Festival has become a major attraction in the region, drawing tourists and generating employment opportunities for many Bicolanos.

Additionally, the partylist remains a reliable ally during times of disaster, responding promptly to typhoon victims with food and other forms of assistance.

Addressing basic needs, AKB has made potable water accessible even in remote communities through its solar-powered water supply system. Furthermore, the partylist is tackling persistent power outages to ensure uninterrupted business operations, education, and daily life.

A significant step in this endeavor was the recent ground-breaking ceremony for the installation of an additional 2x20 MVA capacity as part of the upgrading of the Ligao substation, a milestone initiative led by Congressman Zaldy Co.

No one is left behind under AKB’s inclusive governance. Women who have suffered maltreatment and abuse, abandoned senior citizens, and neglected children all find refuge through the partylist’s initiatives. In partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD),

AKB has established the Haven for Distressed Women and Children and constructed a Home for the Aged, offering a safe space and support for the vulnerable.

As Ako Bicol Partylist continues to champion meaningful change, its unwavering dedication to serving the Bicolanos remains evident. Through decisive action and steadfast commitment, AKB ensures that every Bicolano, regardless of their struggles, has a chance at a better tomorrow.
