LEGAZPI CITY --- The Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) seized over PHP1.5 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 32 drug personalities in operations conducted from Feb. 10 to 16.

In a report on Monday, PRO-5 Director Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon said a total of 24 operations during the period resulted in the arrest of 32 drug violators and the confiscation of illegal drugs of 223.54 grams of shabu and six grams of marijuana.

Among the provinces, the highest volume of confiscation was recorded in Camarines Norte with PHP637,876; followed by Camarines Sur with PHP400,520; Albay with PHP328,440; Masbate with PHP74,800; Naga City with PHP72,556; and Sorsogon with PHP6,600.

Meanwhile, Catanduanes recorded no drug seizures during the period.

Dizon reaffirmed the police force’s dedication to making Bicol a drug-free region.

He emphasized that the police will continue to implement intelligence-driven strategies, aggressive operations, and community-based initiatives to dismantle drug networks and apprehend individuals involved in the illegal drug trade.

“The fight against illegal drugs is a shared responsibility. We urge the public to cooperate with law enforcement by reporting suspicious drug-related activities. Together, we can create a safer and more secure Bicol for all,” Dizon said.

The PRO-5 said it remains committed to strengthening its partnerships with local government units, community organizations, and other stakeholders to sustain the gains in the anti-drug campaign.

It also encouraged the public to report drug-related activities through its hotlines and official social media channels.

On Monday, Dizon also led the awarding ceremony for officers who contributed to maintaining peace in the region.

He further encouraged everyone to uphold these values in their daily activities, as mutual respect is crucial in achieving collective goals within law enforcement and the community. (with a report from Valerie Olaño, OJT/PNA)
