CamHi gives grace period for late enrollees

APPROXIMATELY 400 junior high school students at Camarines Sur National High School remain unenrolled for the 2024-2025 school year, which began on Monday, July 29.

According to School Principal Sulpicio Alferez III, these students failed to claim their report cards on May 25 and did not enroll in July, resulting in their absence during the initial days of classes.

As of Monday morning, more than a hundred students in each of grades 8, 9, 10, and 12 are still undergoing the enrollment process. Alferez mentioned that these students are allowed 40 days of absences and are expected to complete their enrollment within this period.

Last school year, the school had over 10,500 students, while this year, the enrollment stands at 10,150. However, this number is expected to increase with the incoming new enrollees.

Alferez assured parents that once enrolled at CamHigh, their children will not be able to skip classes during school days. Junior high school students are required to stay on campus from 7:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and senior high school students from 12:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The five to six hours of school time are fully occupied, leaving no opportunity for students to leave the campus, whether at the Liboton annex or the main campus.

He also assured that no students would be on campus after 8:00 p.m., including those participating in Peñafrancia activities.
