Caritas Caceres Supports Parish Community Pantries
The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), through Bishop Ambo David of Caloocan, encouraged parishes to put up their respective “community pantries” to help families who were displaced or lost their jobs because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Caritas-Caceres likewise affirms the initiative of some Caceres Parishes in setting up a Parish Pantry (Community Pantry).
Fr. Cesar Hererra in San Vicente Buhi attends to his own community pantry.
The same initiative was already started by NASSA dubbed “Caritas Kindness Station” since March last year to assist selected parishes/communities affected by the Covid crisis. 4 Parishes in Caceres were then selected to implement the project.
According to Fr. Marc Real, Caritas Caceres Director, In support of this current initiative, Caritas-Caceres pledges support of P5k (for Class A & B Parishes) & P10k (C & D), to Parishes who have or will soon put up d said Parish Pantry for the benefit of poor parishioners. The said support may be given in cash or kind or both, depending on d availability of goods.
