Ejercito pledges ICU funding for NCGH

THE Naga City General Hospital (NCGH) is set to receive a significant boost as Senator JV Ejercito expressed his commitment to funding the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) during his visit on Saturday, February 22, this year.
Mayor Nelson Legacion welcomed Ejercito to the city and accompanied him on a tour of the medical facility, which has been operating since December 2023 in the Balatas Development Complex, Barangay Balatas.
The senator’s visit renewed hopes for equipping the hospital with essential medical apparatuses significant to the ICU’s establishment.
Legacion recalled a conversation with Ejercito nearly two years ago when the senator acknowledged the mayor’s efforts in constructing the hospital. At that time, Ejercito remarked, “I might be of help,” a promise that now appears to be taking shape.

During the visit, Dr. Jamela Mangente, NCGH’s assistant head, briefed Ejercito on the medical equipment needed for ICU operations. In response, the senator assured Legacion and Mangente of his readiness to provide funding for the project.
The city government will submit a formal letter request along with a detailed list of ICU requirements to Ejercito within the week.
Legacion emphasized that once the ICU is fully established, the city government can begin the process of upgrading the NCGH from a Level 1 to a Level 2 hospital, further enhancing its capacity to serve Nagueños.
Ejercito’s pledge comes at a time, as NCGH prepares to open its dialysis center this February, equipped with 12 stations. The hospital’s construction and continued expansion are the results of Legacion’s tireless efforts in securing funding from various national government offices and agencies.
With Ejercito’s support, NCGH is poised to provide more comprehensive medical services, ensuring better healthcare for the people of Naga.
