Police file murder case vs 8 in trader’s slay

THE Naga City Police Office has recently filed a murder case against eight individuals allegedly involved in the killing of Jayson Clidoro of Liboton, Naga City.

To recall, businessman Clidoro went missing in Naga City on June 27, 2024, and was found dead in a state of decomposition on July 1, 2024, in Barangay Tuaca, Basud, Camarines Norte.

A Chinese national has been linked as one of the suspects in the killing, along with two Filipinos—a man and a woman—who were seen entering a hotel room with Clidoro in the city hours before he was declared missing.

The foreigner is reportedly related to the victim and employed by SEATAOO, an online business firm.

In an interview, PLt. Col. Chester Pomar, spokesperson for the Naga City Police Office, confirmed that the necessary documents were submitted on Friday, August 16, to the City Prosecutor’s Office for the filing of the case against eight individuals, including four Chinese nationals, two Filipinos, and two John Does.

He stated that once the prosecutor approves the case, the court will soon issue arrest warrants against the suspects.

Pomar added that the names of the suspects will not be made public until the warrants are released. He also mentioned that once the court issues the arrest warrants, police authorities will publicize the identities of the suspects as wanted persons.

The police officer disclosed that these individuals are currently at large.

Based on the results of a post-mortem examination, Clidoro suffered two stab wounds that caused his death.

The police are also investigating the Chinese individuals, suspected of being involved in Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO).
